You know how it is when you do something for the wrong reasons? You compare yourself to people, trying to better or at least match them. Putting yourself under so much pressure that it starts to be fight to be on top, and in the process totally forget to have fun and learn new things because you actually enjoy learning.
I have recently realized it was exactly what I was doing. I just wanted to get things done! In the process I have lost the detail, the learning opportunity and the enjoyment. I constantly have to remind myself it is not what I want. It’s a race in which I’m running against other people, who doesn’t even know they are in a race with me, leaving me kinda silly, cos if I did win, how would everyone else know? How would I even know I was winning?
LOL Okay, now you think, “what is this woman on about!?” Well it is not only one thing, it’s overall. You never have to be better than the person next to you. YOU have to be better than YOU were yesterday.
