M.I.A

I’m doing a quick blog post, simply because I really missed blogging the past few days. RL has been pulling me away so often that I just never get the chance anymore. That will change soon as winter sets in, and I go into hibernation mode, which basically mean I sit wide legged on my heater, with a beanie pulled low enough to almost double as a scarf and just to make extra sure no cold ever finds my skin, some reinforcement of a scarf. I actually bought some fingertipless gloves that I can plug into my PC that warms up. I’m sooo exited about these… it’s even fluffy! I’m totally armored for this winter! oh.. that just reminded me I might consider knitting a nose sock that fits perfectly over my nose.

But before my blissful hibernation starts, I need to say farewell to my best friend as she and her new hubby start their new family in another town and I bit farewell to my current job, finally leaving the insane at the house of the insane and open new doors to the secret of law. I know that sounds weird. I found that saying bye to my best friend, changing jobs and possibly moving house soon, are all contributing to me being extremely whiny. I deal better with huge changes if they are spread more even, but alas I’ll make the most of this challenge.

I’ll be away the next few days again. Off to meet my friends new hometown and helping her get sorted and organised, trying to persuade her not to pick up the heaviest boxes. But when I’m back, I’ll be back in full force, with or without my nose sock.

Choices

This past month or so, I have been struggling with a choice. But today I don’t want to talk about my choice, it is still too personal, and really I do know the answer. I just don’t know if I’m a good enough person to do the right thing.

But on the topic of doing the right thing, recently (and it happened too many times before) I have seen so many choices made on Plurk and Facebook, many of them really negatively affecting others. So I’m wondering, am I, who also need to make a choice, am I in the position to judge people for those choices?

I know the saying, don’t judge someone until you have walked in their shoes. Even if you had a life from hell, does that give you the right to hack other people’s accounts? Does that give you the right to present yourself as something that you are not? Does this give you the right to hurt other people? When does it become pure spite? When am I allowed to judge?

This blog is a little all over the place, and does not really have a “take from” as Cao would have said. It’s just thoughts and a wish that people will become better at being good. And that brings me to Ghandi’s saying: Be the change you want to see in the world.

Yeah, the thing I was talking about in the first line.. was never a choice really, I always knew what to do.
