Which social networks are you currently on using your SL Avatar?
Flickr, Facebook Page, Twitter, Plurk, Pinterest, Koinup, Instagram
Which network is your favorite and least favorite?
Facebook is my favourite as I have all my close inworld friends that I chat with there and then Plurk is a really close second, although I have only met about two people in Second Life. The community on Plurk is funny, fun and always keeps me informed! My least favorite network is Tweet. I really only log onto Tweet when I blogged, to post a blog. I don’t have a network of friends on there.
How/Where do you usually read/use most of your networks?
I interact more on my networks when I’m at work as don’t have access to Second Life.
What do you like most and least about social networking sites?
I really like the friendships that I form the most about those networks, but also the information sharing.
The least is the negativity and when someone post something deliberately to hurt someone else. I know I’m a dreamer, and that if people are like I want them to be, life will be extremely boring. I have read so many comments about ‘I hate nice people’. Niceness can be overkill, but if some people just consider their actions and think about someone else’s feelings, there will be a lot less hate in the world. You don’t have to be ‘nice’ all the time, but you also don’t have to be negative and downright spiteful all the time either. There is a fine line.
Do you feel social networks are a good way to promote you/your brand/your work?Â
Yes it can if it is used correctly. If not it may be away to break down your brand. Another fine line and I’m learning as I go. 😀
What is your main reason for using Social Networks?
My number one reason is to enjoy time with friends. Yes, I know a weird thing to say when I am the one that never IM’s you first! I get easily distracted okay! But I try and my second reason is to learn how to improve the things I love doing, e.g. photographs and blogging. And then to show off what I have learned.
