I decided to blog this vintage outfit from FATAL which is only available at The Garage Event,  but for a change I wanted write about something related to the picture. I then googled ‘vintage’ and it came up with 50’s advertisements and things like: ‘Skinny girls don’t have oomph’ and ‘Why be skinny, come on, enjoy life!’. I was surprised as I thought that over centuries it was always the skinnier the better. Seems like boys like our bums!

– The Guilt

When I was still relatively new and was spending most of my time at The Shelter, we used to joke about ‘How you know you spend too much time in Second Life’. I know we all made those jokes but it was fun to revisit some of the reasons, so here goes:

1. When you look at your hair in the mirror in RL and think… omg, I’ve been ruthed!

2. You meet someone new and you have an overwhelming urge to look at their profile.

3. When you find yourself moving like your AO.

4. Thinking of clothing items you want to wear and not being able to remember if you own them in RL or SL.

5. You buy new furniture in RL and wonder if it will take you over your prim limit!

6. When you sign documents with your second life name.

7. Instead of laughing in RL you actually say ‘LOL’ or ‘sadface’

I’m sure we can all identify with this. let me know if you have more! In the photos I’m wearing another romper from 20.FIVE. In my opinion it must be my favorite so far. It fits my shape really well and I had fun playing around with different looks and had a hard time deciding on a final one.

Science of Attraction

As a teenager did you do that numerology thing where you write [your name] loves [the guy’s name] then worked out the compatibility? More than 80% equalled true love; 30% or less and middle names were inserted to try and bump up the score. This was very scientific. (chuckles) In Second Life you can even change your name!

But then, I read in a magazine the other day that you can now take a DNA swab, send it to Switzerland and they will let you know if your future together is written in your DNA! Forget sums and astrology!

That made me laugh and made me wonder where pure ‘get to know a person’, and finding out about natural attraction went to. I guess it’s the new age.

Talking about new, 20.FIVE just released this cute romper. It has a hud to chance colors and I particularly like this as the color is different to the colors I normally wear, the bow makes it different and I combined it with B*fly’s latest tattoo. Credits after the picture.

Classic

I have been crashing a lot with Firestorm lately, especially when tp’ing. Sometimes so bad that all my Firestorm settings resets, this is annoying. So a friend on Plurk suggested I use Catznip as she finds it the most stable viewer. I tried it, and so far so good! I had to take some picture to see if it measures up and it’s the same. I miss a few of Firestorm’s features, like the quick preferences and that it saves my snapshot settings. But like all things new, I just have to get used to it.

Since I really didn’t plan on blogging this, I didn’t really look for a new outfit, but as this is about style and not the newest thing on the grid, I changed my mind.
