The Main Event

Crossroads

We all come to crossroads in our lives at some point. I think the hardest thing for me when it comes to crossroads are that you really never have all the information to make an informed decision. You need to anticipate the outcome of both and then decide which one would be the best for you.

But how do you KNOW? How do you know if where you are at now is the best you will ever be or not even a drop in the ocean of where you are supposed to go! A few of my friends post motivational pictures on Facebook and one of them were: ‘You can’t have success if you are moving on the wrong path, sometimes you need to turn around go and back and choose a different path to be successful.’ BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW you are on the wrong path? This can be in any situation and some situations you know it’s the wrong one, but not everything is as black and white. Then I scroll further on Facebook and read: “when nothing is sure, everything is possible” which gives us a little hope. Now which way will I go?

About two years ago, if not more, I was bored and went to a club. This chick started chatting to me as if I was her best friend – weird for me as normally only guys chatted to girls – I was a noob then and the places I used to hang out, it was the case. Then the next day Bridgette IM’ed me again and we kept chatting for days, months, years later. We sometimes go into different directions, but in the end we always know that no matter what, we can always count on each other. Besties 😀

Safety

Have you noticed that before you take a road trip, people wish you safety? When we drive past a car wrecked, I always hope people were not hurt.

But thinking about that a little, is it not pain that makes us feel human? Make us feel real? We all chase happiness and safety, which is of course good and what we all deserve. Thing is, we only want highs, but how will you know you are high, when you have no lows? How can you even have high’s without lows? If you only had high’s will it not just be a flat line? This, in medical terms, means no life. I choose to live.

Talking about life, I visited the Paris sim, and it’s beautiful, elegant, with an Eiffel tower. I took this photo there wearing my little black dress, which is a new release at Ducknipple. Again this comes in 12 colors, so you can be wearing a new dress every time 🙂

I read to much, or is there a thing as reading too much? Maybe I interpret things differently then intended. Procrastinate

Strawberry Singh started a meme on “procrastinate” so I jumped on the bandwagon. My facts are below:

1. What is the rez date for your current SL Avatar that you use most often?  I still use my original avatar, Lola500 Ghost and my rez date is 29 May 2009.
2. Where was the first place you made friends as a newb and got to know people in Second Life?  For the first month I never ventured out of the info hub I landed in. I didn’t even know there was more! I was about to give up, as I didn’t see the fuss of Second Life. Then just as I was about to go, this guy IM’s me and told me about The Shelter. I teleported there and my Second Life started. It’s a welcoming place for newbs and they teach people the basics of Second Life, you also make amazing friends there. I’m in Second Life for almost 4 years and I still go back to visit and help newbs. I was also a volunteer there for a while.
3. Where do you spend most of your SL time now?  Now I spent most of my time at my home. Either hanging with friends or styling. Other than that, if I’m not shopping, I will be at Ambrosia Club or REZ Nightclub.
4. Who is your closest friend in Second Life? (only pick one)  I’m the type of person who gets along with everyone.
5. What is the most favorite thing in your inventory? (only pick one)  The thing I got when I was still a newb, and then I was so proud of it, today I still wear it almost every day. My stacked silver ring that is engraved with the words: Princess and Brat. I never get tired of it.
6. The last thing you purchased in Second Life?  A really colorful skirt, which is not even mesh and I’m wearing it in the picture below.
7. What color clothing does your avatar wear most often?  White, Black, Pink or Turquoise and Red.
8. Do you prefer to walk, run or fly?  I dislike flying, always have; always will. I walk or I’ll run. I have the funniest run, and sometimes just run to get a good laugh. I know – small things 😉
9. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in SL?   For my 3^rd Rez day a friend of mine made me put on a funny hat that sang “pudding, pudding” and made me wear pompoms. We went to Freebie Island and he made me stand on the landing point, where I danced – some really newb spastic dance, that was six or more years old. And I had to ask every person that landed on me to dance with me. Eventually we had this massive newb party, everyone with a Pudding hat, pompoms and – the others- heaps of bling doing the spastic dance and having so much fun. We were over 30 people that day. I never laughed so much and I made so many new friends, who almost a year later, still are. Some of the people only started on Second Life that day and they commented on the craziness of it and how much they enjoyed it. Something to remember – always.

Shades

Whenever things go wrong or when you are struggling to cope, at least one person will tell you that if you keep yourself occupied, things will improve. That is why I love painting, and yes, I know it has got nothing to do with Second Life, but Second Life effects Real Live and sometimes things happen in Second Life that makes it less easy to cope with. I paint things that I feel deep inside my soul and it helps me stay on course mentally. We all go through phases were we have to look inwards to see if the life we are living is what we really want. Painting, for me foster a sense of inner peace. This kind of calm, shifts my inner focus and helps me put distance between me and my problems and it empowers me to face the world again.

Did you know that it’s believed that people who suffers from depression views the world in different shades of grey, so by working with different shades of paint, they are forced to create patterns and therefore harmony, in time this spill over in their life and how they view the world. Think about what colors you wear everyday – including Second Life, what colour is your home?

So if you feel overwhelmed, or just have creativity block (if you are a Second Life creator), just step back for a moment, try some Real Life craft and see how you unblock your creativity.
